I haven’t made any huge leaps and bounds on the farmhouse project the past few days, but Monday night we glued together the pieces of the foundation, then I waited 24 hours to paint, and today we attached it to the house!
Here’s a picture:
Yes, that’s a bottle of Mountain Dew weighing it down! I don’t drink pop very often…but this came in handy for weighing down the house so it will stick to the foundation! I’ve also got some books and other weights inside.
The foundation sticks out a bit because the porch will be going on top of it. Hubby was all worried that he got some glue on the sides, but I think that will be cool to touch up for some sort of block/stucco appearance once I’m doing the finishing work and details.
Tomorrow’s to-do list:
Paint the interior walls!
In other news, the Ugly Dollhouse Makeover Challenge is officially on, as I got a dollhouse for making over! 🙂 Woo-Hoo! Will be posting some pics soon!
I also went on a HUGE thrift shopping extravaganza much to my husband’s dismay…I spent $40, which any of you who do regular thrift shopping know that’s a giant haul of goodies! I am so excited though and can’t wait to share what I found and my ideas for using the various things!
Anyways, that’s the progress on the farmhouse – it’s slow as you have to wait for glue to dry and set and to have a second person around to make sure I’m following directions correctly and not screwing up anything! The important thing though is I’m having so very much fun, and that is indeed all that really matters!
