So Tuesday I went a thrifting! And I LOVE thrift stores, flea markets, yard sales, church bazaars, all that stuff…you never know what awesome things you’ll find!
I really found a lot of nice stuff this trip, I guess most people are cleaning out the junk for spring, which is great news!
From left to right: A cool candle holder which I think will be great for a coffee table base or maybe a wall cabinet or the bathroom vanity…a wooden chair that is perfect fashion doll size, a candle base with charms that will make for an excellent table, and a funky metal jewelry box that will be good as a dresser or maybe something in the kitchen like a stove…will have to think about it!
I also picked up some small photo frames for 99 cents each, that will be great for re-painting and making into art for the walls!
And those cauldrons! Oh how cool those are! I have no clue what I’m going to do with them yet, but at least we’ll be ready for Halloween time.
I also found a huge container of embroidery thread. Embroidery thread is good for sewing, rug making, crochet, and all sorts of projects for miniatures.
And then I found this dream catcher – I think it will make a great artsy piece to hang on one of the walls. I mean, who wouldn’t love a gigantic dream catcher? I’ll probably paint in teals and magenta. The orange is just a bit too neon over the top for me!
I also raided the scarves bin and found some nice pieces of fabric scarves that I hope to use for making curtains on the sides of the ugly dollhouse…something to soften it up a little and add some color. I will probably paint these too…we shall see!
I really love the different things I got! I wish I had more time {and a bigger budget} to hit more thrift stores and flea markets this week, but I’ll be plenty busy with these goodies for awhile now!
What kinds of things do you look for at thrift shops and flea markets for your miniatures and dollhouses? I’d love to hear what you’ve found {and what you’ve made from it} in the comments below!
